I should update it, too.

Now I have to commit to the new sorcery.

Wait... there's a space for a giant picture billboard?

And I can customize it myself?!

Fuck. Now I have to do some art again.

I also need to make sure my Pinterest is alive.

A re-color My Little Ponies fan character made front page.

This kind of shit really makes me doubt my commitment to Sparkle Motion (Deviantart)

If I ever get a chance to, I am going to fist fight a fox. I used to have a friend that wanted to fight a kangaroo. No matter how you say it, "punching a 'roo" sounds like a euphemism for masturbation.

A digital artist was recently brought to my attention. Somehow in two months, his skills went from high school to college graduate in the world of photo-realistic painting. Now I understand people can be quick learners, but I see this as unfeasible. A trained eye could tell he used an art filter and turned a photo into a "digital painting" then fixed some bits to look like he painted it. It was also pointed out that he didn't try hard enough to hide filter artifacts, but instead blamed it on "rushing it to get done." I would like to think that he did paint it, but once you know how to do this sort of trick you can't unsee the errors.

My point is that I like to see artists call out the Charlatans and publicly crucify them for their lies. In his defense, maybe he just doesn't know any better.

Then again, this is DA and there are plenty of hacks and liars on here.

I also love me some jazz and Modern Adult Contemporary.

A plagiarist and/or a phony has recently brought to my attention. Somehow in two months, his skills went from high school to college graduate in the world of photo-realistic painting. Now I understand people can be quick learners, but I see this as unfeasible. It also came to my attention that he didn't try hard enough to hide PS/Gimp's photo-to-painting filter artifacts, but instead blamed it on "rushing it to get done."

My next goal is to draw nothing but realistic facial expressions. Why?

Everyone I draw is either indifferent, angry, or confused. Yes, a lot of people are permanently stuck in these modes BUT it fits into my writing problem (where everything is an argument and no one is happy.)

I also need to ditch the archetype of Giant Quiet Guy. That shit is oooooold.

Being employed is hard work. You have to show up at a specific time, do specific things, and go home at a specific time.

Then they pay you, specifically.

I have been drawing effed up people I see on my way to work, as I ride a bus into Collegetown and transfer to Downtown Frowntown's bus.College people are a blend of three extremes: generic MTV wannabes, plain janes, and sideshow. I do get a lot of reference drawn, and I may understand shape and folds better.

I also saw a man mow through two tubs of prepackaged barbecued beef while waiting for his bus. It was horrifying and I couldn't look away. That's really what got me back into gesture drawing up there.

I signed up for this dating site called PlentyofFish dotcom.

After two weeks of "fishing" I have one conclusion about them.

The place should really be called PlentyofSwampBeasts dotcom.

Dating is dumb.

Is it burning me out? Eff no. Drawing / creating 30 pieces of art for 30 days is a nice way to flex and build my art muscle. I have already seen some improvement on my painting speed.

Nobody claimed my 15000GET so you get just that. Nothing. And like it.

I'm close to 15,000 views. Send me a screencap and I might do you something.

I've started working on my comic book finally. What comic book? It's a secret.

Job is good, I may be starting some animation for it here pretty dern soon (SHOCK).  This means I got to dust off the Flash machine and remember what it is I'm supposed to do in it.

Herr derr.

She said that. Direct quote.

I'm trying to wake up my creative side. It also means I may try to redefine what my art is. I blame Bryan Lee O'Malley and Seth McFarlane for this. Also, :iconthepenciler: for his charity.

This just means I'm going to force art out until I am happy with it. After all, you have to break eggs until one of them hatches a terrible brown alien thing in an even more so terrible film.

I have a new job. I draw pictures for standardized tests. Mainly, it involves drawing children. I google pictures of children, draw them, and then vectorize them. If someone were to look through my image history on my work computers, it would appear that I am a pedo. It is not the case, however. I'm just the only person there who is comfortable drawing people.

Although, I was told that I need to make the kids look happier, as they all look like they are about to rip shit apart in mere moments.

I have become friendly with Illustrator. We have an understanding, now.

Here's an update on my current projects:

Odyssey: Need to commit to a style and a story.
Fishing: Need to commit time. I have like... 8 seconds of 2.5 minutes done.
FOES: Need to get voice acting! Then I can really begin.

...and nobody claimed it.

What a waste. Thanks everyone.

I'm back in Iowa now. Please help.
If you see that pageviews are at 9,999....guess what?

You win a prize! Screen cap it and request a drawring. I'll do it for you.

Just for you.

I promise. I owe Gretchen a drawing for being 1000 but she never requested anything :(
I graduated. Yay.

...now what?
I should be graduating June 13th, so I figured I would finally update my journal.

After graduation? I'm taking a little break. Not an extensive break, but after I let the dust settle, I am going to start pounding out this cartoon idea that I have and start writing scripts, storyboarding, and the like.

Wish me luck.
Christmas is coming.

I am in :iconwheaman:'s lil dealy again.

Drawn To Life...awesome.
Final Fantasy VI Advance is beyond what I expected.

Anything else? Ok then.

I have to pee.
I do believe that I updated my PixelID. It is lovely charming.

Anyway, got into the final 8 again in :iconniichts:'s tourey...and lost. But whatever. I beat out 110 people. It just proves I am in the top eight in those things.

Another tourney? We will see.

Also: school is a motherlover.
I'm in another character contest over at :iconniichts: with The Orca. I am excited and worried about when I squeeze in time to draw for the contest.

Anyway, life is good. Nothing is really bothering me now. I was in a sad, mopey, pity me state but thanks to a friend or two, I woke up out of that ugly slumber. Thanx again for that ;)

The Yakuza Octopi are over my flat art portfolio, which is building nice momentum. I should upload those pages at some point...but meh. Lazy!

LAY ZEE!!!

Oh, and when I can find time to do so, I am drawing this journal's title. *gasp* Actual fan art?! No wai!

Also: Anyone want commisioned art? Send me a note or somethin'. Especially :iconwheaman: tournament players who I didn't get to fight. ESPECIALLY.
